Ladybug Farm serves a diverse organic vegetable selection on the Coastside. Year round, Orlando Zavala, a one man show, distributes CSA boxes, delivers to top rated restaurants, specialty grocers, and, has had a booth at the Coastside Farmer's Market.
Orlando came to America in the early 80's with organic farming experience from his homeland in El Salvador. He landed on his feet running in the organic farming business under others and now leases property that has been approved by the CCOF.
There is always something wonderfully exotic growing organically on his predominately dry-farmed, darwinian, vegetable garden. One might find vegetables from Latin American, such as chayote and apazote, or Japanese varieties such as kabocha squash, or Mediterranean fare such as arugula and romenesco.
