Miles & Barbara Albright are "home schooler types" and the parents of four awesome daughters, ages 10 to 21. We have an irrigated, organic, grass fed, grass finished beef operation on the banks of the Tennessee and the Flint Rivers in North Alabama. Our herd is approximately 350 head of cattle and is Angus based. We live & work together with very little hired labor. We also raise and ride Quarter Horses and Barbara milks our Dairy goats. [Caution: I, (Miles), am a wild-eyed preacher-creature!]
We observe what we call "organic protocols" on our ranch, but we are not "Certified Organic" because we are not willing to concede the use of poultry manures on our pastures at this time.
But we use NO chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, hormones, GMO genetics, or cloning. Our cattle are NEVER fed antibiotics, animal byproducts, or animal manures.
Our Ranch is divided into 26 different paddocks, (pastures), and our cattle are moved to fresh pastures every day or so. We are concerned very much with the humane treatment of our stock and the conscientious stewardship of the land and the environment. Even the earthworms are important to us.
