About
Founded in 1995, Swallowtail Waldorf School is an independent, non-profit Waldorf school located in downtown Hillsboro, Oregon, with a rural campus and farm located off Glencoe Road. The school is a community of children, their families, teachers and friends, united by a focus on a well-rounded, rigorous, and creative education. Waldorf schools teach all the traditional academic disciplines, plus much more, with a unique and distinctive approach. Farming is incorporated into the curriculum from Kindergarten through 8th grade.
Our farm was started in 2008 with vegetables grown on our rural campus and sold through the Orenco Farmer's Market. Swallowtail School Farm uses biodynamic methods to create a healthy environment on our land so that it can be used sustainably for generations to come.
This year, we have expanded to include a CSA. Subscriptions are available so call the school if you are interested. Otherwise, come see us at the Orenco Sunday Market starting in late July!
